| Paramahamsa Satyananda's Maha Samadhi |
| Issued By the Pithadhi - swari of Rikhiapeeth, Swami Satyasangananda Saraswati Paramahamsa Satyananda who inspired millions to live the divine life took maha samadhi at midnight on December 5th. Acoording to the tradition for Paramahansas a shodashi puja (sixteen day ritual) will be observed at Rikhiapeeth for Paramahansaji which will culminate in the final puja on 22nd December.Disciples devotees friends and well wishers are flocking to rikhia to offer shradhanjali.All are welcome for the blessings of Paramahansaji that were abundantly flowing to all he came in contact with during his lifetime and have now magnified a thousandfold after he abandoned his body to attain maha samadhi. |

Yogam Sharanam is blessed and inspired by Paramahansa Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati, the Paramacharya, of Bihar School of Yoga, ![]()
which is the first and the only Yoga University in the world. Yogam Sharanam, a charitable institution, run on no-profit basis is based at Nashik (near Mumbai an Economical Capital of India) , Maharashtra state, India. All the practices, rules, principles, policies and curriculum of various courses of Yogam Sharanam are in accordance with those followed in Bihar School of Yoga as per Satyananda Yoga Tradition. ![]() Satyananda Yoga System is meticulously followed in Yogam Sharanam. Yogam Sharanam is linked to the divine Yoga tradition of 75 years built painstakingly by Swami Sivananda, his disciple, Paramahansa Swami Satyananda who founded the legendary Bihar School of Yoga and his successor Swami Niranjananandaji. Swami Niranjananandaji takes deep and active interest in and closely monitors all the activities in Yogam Sharanam. On 30th July, 2007, on the auspicious occasion of Gurupournima, in the Garden city of Bangalore, Swami Niranjananandaji blessed the undertaking of Yogam Sharanam. Eventually, Swami Shivarajanandaji, a close associate and disciple of Swami Satyanandaji, inaugurated the Yogam Sharanam centre on 20th April, 2008. Teachers and directors of Yogam Sharanam have been initiated spiritually by Swami Niranjananandaji himself. The teachers in Yogam Sharanam have been thoroughly trained in Bihar School of Yoga. In all respects, Yogam Sharanam is linked to the glorious tradition of Bihar School of Yoga. All the activities of Yogam Sharanam are conducted through:
Yogam Sharanam International Center , a Soul Spa Yogam Sharanam International Center is situated at Godavari Darshan Asharam which has been inaugurated by Paramahansa Swami Niranjananandaji himself in the year 2002 by kindling the auspicious lamp in the Jyoti Mandir where he himself performed meditation . Godavari Darshan is 18 kms from Nashik city in picturesque, natural, pollution-free surroundings, Godavari Darshan is equipped with simple but well-furnished cottages and huts for accommodating aspirants, modern kitchen, meditation hall, another hall for practicing Yoga and conducting classes, tree-lined walk-way, a small lake ,library, administrative building etc. A leisurely stroll on the tree-lined walk-way around the ashram elevates one's spirits and a quiet sit-out near the small lake inside the ashram calms and balms one's turbulent mind and is enough to make one introspective. The huts are built with ancient, nature-friendly Indian architecture. Godavari Darshan is a Yoga retreat perfectly described as a ' Soul Spa' with a fine and tasteful blend of ancient Indian lifestyle and modern amenities. In the year 2009 Paramahansa Swami Niranjananandaji has permitted Yogam Sharanam to conduct International Yoga Courses at Godavari Darshan Ashram. Presently, various courses in Yoga science are conducted in Godavari Darshan for foreigners and elite Indian nationals in English as well as Hindi languages. The ashram is developed on the 18 acres of barren land and now turned painstakingly into a beautiful paradise and soul spa. All activities in the ashram are conducted in accordance with the Gurukul traditions. In the ashram one can elevate one's physical as well as spiritual level by practicing meditation, Yoga, Karmayoga, Bhaktiyoga, Bhajan, Kirtan, individual and group penance, study, etc in a conducive ambience.
