Persons and institutions yearning for quick bucks have arrived in great numbers on the holy scene of Yoga. Needless to say, in a short while, it will be Yoga that will be besmirched and not the people who misuse this ancient, time-tested science. In order to stem this dangerous tide, an army of properly trained and committed Yoga teachers will have to be created.

The scholarship aims at teaching authentic Satyananda Yoga System to desiring and deserving Yoga students and equip them with the knowledge of pure Yoga; giving them opportunity to build a career in Yoga teaching and thereby spreading the network of Satyananda Yoga System all over. Yogam Sharanam is going to sponsor all the cost of their education, accommodation and food. Moreover, Yogam Sharanam assures the students a permanent job in one of its institutions soon after they finish their education.

The salient features of Swami Niranjan Yoga Scholarship are as follows.

• Scholarship is open for all irrespective of gender, nationality, religion, caste or color.
• The beneficiary of this scholarship will undergo a thorough training in Yoga practices in one of the centers of Yogam Sharanam. The candidate will be allowed to participate in Yoga Teachers Training Course wherein world-famous Satyananda Yoga system is taught.
• The beneficiary of the scholarship will get substantial concession in the course fee. The candidate selected for the scholarship will be given free education, food and accommodation. The candidate selected for the scholarship will pay a deposit which is refundable after the course.
• Age of the candidate should be between 15 and 50.
• The scholarship is open for students speaking Marathi, Hindi and English.
• The candidate will have to appear for a simple entrance test wherein his/her communication skills as well as the level of knowledge in Yoga science will be tested.
• The candidate will have to successfully complete the Yoga Teachers Teaching Course in Yogam Sharanam.
• During the course, the candidate will have to stay in Yogam Sharanam center as a residential student.
• After successful completion of the course the candidate will be given an opportunity to teach Yoga in various Yogam Sharanam centers.
• The teachers of Yogam Sharanam will decide the duration of training the candidate will have to undergo depending upon the candidate’s proficiency, level of concentration, nature and sincerity.
• During the training the candidate will get free food and accommodation.
• After successful completion of the apprenticeship a certificate will be issued to the candidate which will enable him/her to teach Yoga anywhere in the world. Besides, the candidate will be offered a job in one of the centers of Yogam Sharanam with a salary of Rs. 5000. The candidate, however, will be free to decline the offer.
• Later on, depending upon the proficiency of the candidate he/she will be offered a permanent position as teacher for Yogam Sharanam with increased, regular salary.
• The candidate is supposed to submit a bonafide certificate and a reference letter from a respectable person in society such as public servants, high level government officials, principals of schools and colleges etc.
• Taking into account, the sincerity of the candidate, and his/her urge for Yoga studies, Yogam Sharanam can consider sponsoring his/her higher Yoga education in Bihar School of Yoga, the first and the only Yoga University and the largest Yoga Institution in the world.
• The candidate has a choice to work independently after his apprenticeship.
